How long and how often are sessions?
Individual therapy sessions are usually once or twice a week, for 45 minutes, depending on each client’s
needs. At times, 60-minute sessions once a week are appropriate as well.

in the group and skills being taught
Do you take insurance?

Superbills with the necessary diagnostic and service codes are provided at the end of each month for out
of network reimbursement. Our practice is also happy to help with the completion of any necessary forms
for reimbursement.
What forms of payment do you take?
Payment is accepted at the time of service in cash, check, credit card or Zelle. All credit card payments
will incur a 2.7% fee.
What is a Good Faith Estimate?
As of January 1, 2022 congress enacted a bill called the No Surprises Act requiring state-licensed health care providers to provide a Good Faith Estimate of healthcare charges to new and continuing clients. This law, which originally started in the medical field, is designed to protect consumers from unexpected medical bills. Prior to the start of treatment, your Good Faith Estimate will include a provisional diagnosis and an estimate of charges in the event that we meet weekly for 1 year. Please know that this is not binding in any way.
What is your cancellation policy?
A minimum of 24 hours notice is required to avoid paying the full session fee. After three late canceled sessions in
three months, scheduling and the continuation of treatment will be discussed. Mount Pleasant Psychological
Services for Children values the importance of providing all clients with the opportunity to access services in a
timely fashion which is made possible by working together to give advance notice of cancellations.
How Long Does Treatment Last?
The length of treatment depends on the history of the presenting problem and intensity, frequency of
sessions, and follow through with treatment recommendations.
What do sessions usually look like?
Sessions are typically client-centered and tailored to one’s treatment goals. While the focus of the session is goal oriented, the client is provided with the opportunity for choice and flexibility within the session as needed. At Mount Pleasant Psychological Services for Children we understand that developing a secure therapeutic relationship fosters progress towards one’s treatment goals.
Do you offer telehealth services?
Yes. However, it is recommended that participation occur in person for the first several sessions to build rapport, and thereafter periodically in person if telehealth is sought more regularly. The best method of treatment can be discussed at the outset of therapy
